Gail Ingram

Gail Ingram (Pākehā Tangata Tiriti) has a Masters in Creative Writing from Massey University, and is a graduate of Hagley Writers’ Institute. Her poetry has been widely published, including takahē, Turbine/Kapohau, Landfall, Mayhem, Catalyst, Poetry New Zealand Yearbook, Oscen, Barren magazine and The Spinoff. She won the 2016 New Zealand Poetry Society competition, the 2019 Caselberg International competition, and has been shortlisted or commended in more than a dozen others. Paula Green called Gail’s first collection, Contents Under Pressure (Pūkeko Publications, 2019) “a gift of a book”. Her second collection Some Bird (Sudden Valley Press) is forthcoming in September 2023. She teaches at Write On School for Young Writers, and is editor for a fine line, the magazine of the New Zealand Poetry Society.
