Kamala Hayman

Kamala Hayman has been editor of The Press since 2018. She joined The Press in 2003 after a decade as a reporter in the UK. She has helped lead The Press newsroom through the Canterbury earthquakes, Port Hills fires, and the 2019 terror attack. Kamala was also executive producer of Stuff’s globally successful Black Hands podcast on the Bain family murders. Under her editorship The Press has been named Newspaper of the Year four times (2018 and 2021, 2022 and 2023).
