Rachael King is a writer for children and adults, a book reviewer and a former festival programme director. Her fourth novel The Grimmelings will be published in February 2024 and she is also working on a book of creative non-fiction. She was named Reviewer of the Year at the 2023 Voyager New Zealand Media Awards. She moved to Ōtautahi in 2008 to take up a one-year position as the Ursula Bethell Writer in Residence at the University of Canterbury and she never left.
