Sally Blundell is a freelance journalist and writer in Ōtautahi Christchurch. She holds a PhD from the University of Canterbury. She was books and culture editor for the NZ Listener and a judge (fiction) in the 2018 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards. She has contributed essays to a range of publications including Extraordinary Anywhere, (Te Herenga Waka University Press) and Once in a Lifetime (Freerange Press). She is also the author of Ravenscar House: a Biography (Canterbury University Press, 2022). Sally was awarded MPA journalist of the year in 2020 and was runner up as reviewer of the year in the 2021 Voyager Media Awards.
